Introduction

            EEE is the engineering course to learn about power production, transmission and distribution; electrical machines and power electronics. So, what does this mean? Without electrical engineers, there is no power generation, and the trending industries, electronics and computers, would no longer exist. This explains the importance of electrical engineering in keeping the other industries sustained. MIET values this important engineering stream, and honors it by providing the course. Well equipped laboratories and fine faculty are provided to make the students feel the greatness of “Electrical Engineering”.

            Since it is Electrical and Electronics Engineering, you will get the hints of electronics as well. Subjects like Microprocessor, Electron devices and circuits, etc. are fun to learn, and introduce you to the core points of the electronics. The underlying benefit is you get the talent to work as an electronic engineer too. There is plethora of job opportunities for the EEE students. You can get placed in the Electrical or Electronic sectors. Power plants, Electrical machine industries, etc. are the common work places for the electrical engineers. Even many electronic companies consider the EEE students for joining them. So, the work sources are in peak for the electrical students. Electrical and Electronic Engineering is an interesting stream, with lots of employment potential.

            The department of EEE at M.I.E.T Engineering College was established in 1998. It offers Undergraduate programme (B.E) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with sanctioned intake of 120 students. It also runs prominent postgraduate programme (M.E) in Power electronics and drives (Power electronics), which started from year 2011 with sanctioned intake of 24 students.

            The faculty of this department eludes excellent commitment, and they possess high qualification credentials to provide technical education of utmost standards. The students are offered with innovative workshops, guest lectures, informative industrial visits, etc. on a regular basis, to keep them updated with the latest trends in the electrical and electronics engineering.

Objective
