National Service Scheme

National service scheme is another source of outlet to engage and represents students in administrative curricular and extra- curricular activities. The NSS unit of M.I.E.T. started its functioning in the early 2000. It is approved and funded by the affiliating University. Every year the NSS unit actively engages in various activities with 100 student volunteers mentored by a senior faculty member as a programme officer. He plays pivotal role for the organization of NSS unit and implementation of NSS programme under the supervision and direction of Chairman and the Principal of the college. Expenditure towards the activities of the unit is shared by the NSS cell of Anna University and the Management. The programme aim is to instill the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society. Every year 100 volunteer do their service in an adopted village in the name swatch bharat, Tree plantation, Medical awareness programme, Blood donation camp, Traffic awareness programme, Social awareness rally, etc., They do their service 120hrs in the name of regular activities and 120hrs in the name of special camping activities. Totally 750 peoples gets benefitted every year through NSS.
