National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is an initiative by 7 IITs and IISc for creating course contents in engineering and science with the basic objective to devise and guide reforms that will transform India into a strong and vibrant knowledge economy. M.I.E.T. Engineering College is established as the Local Chapter of IIT Madras for the NPTEL Courses from May, 2017.
In view of the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16-05-2007 and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, dated 08-05-2009 to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student or students whether by words are spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
Ragging is totally prohibited in MIET campus. The function of the committee is to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging which includes words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness to a student, or indulging in any undisciplined activities which causes annoyance to the students.
The committee has the powers to take action on students involving in such activities. Committee comprises of the following members.

The College has a Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee. The functions of the Committee are to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be registered online portal of the college. Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee with an impartial and fair approach and to sort out various grievances of the students judiciously.
