Innovative Teaching

The department initiates innovative methods to make the students actively participate in the teaching-learning process through student centric learning activities such as google class room, audio/video lecturers, peer to peer learning, role play, demonstration of  model, Inquiry based learning, collaborative learning etc.,

Google Classroom

The google classroom label describes the teaching structure that has students watching pre-recorded lessons at home and completing in-class assignments, as opposed to hearing lectures in class and doing homework at home. Teachers who implement the google classroom model often film their own instructional videos, but many also use pre-made videos from online sources.

Peer to Peer Learning

Three or four like-minded students are pooled together to form a group and to help each other in academic activities to excel in University examinations. The members of each group coordinate their efforts by producing quality output of the task given to them. Every member of the group shares his/her knowledge and ideas with other members of the group. It enhances individual’s knowledge and skills and inculcates team work and leadership quality. Peer to Peer review is obtained through which students are actively involved in their own learning and establishing a connection between the learner and the learning object.

Role play

An important key element to understand the concepts. In this activity a group of students are actively involved to demonstrate a particular concept in action. This will help the students to comprehend the topics with ease. The purpose of these activities is to ensure tracking students development, revealing the learning progress, highlighting the best work and involving the students in assessment process.

Demonstration of models

The real time working models are demonstrated in the class to connect the tangible model with the theoretical concept. This helps the students to easily understand the working principles of electrical engineering components.

Inquiry-based Learning

Encouraging students to ask questions and investigate their own ideas that helps in improving their problem-solving skills

Collaborative learning

Collaboration allows students to actively participate in the learning process by talking with each other and listening to others opinions. Collaboration establishes a personal connection between students and the topic of study and it helps students think in a less personally biased way. Group projects and discussions are the topics . Teachers may employ collaboration to assess student’s abilities to work as a team, leadership skills, or presentation abilities

Students Projects

Purpose of Project Work:

Project Work is a learning experience which aims to provide students with the opportunity to synthesise knowledge from various areas of learning, and critically and creatively apply it to real life situations. This process, which enhances students’ knowledge and enables them to acquire skills like collaboration, communication and independent learning, prepares them for lifelong learning and the challenges ahead.

Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes identify the key areas of learning of the subject. Four learning outcomes are separately articulated: knowledge application, communication, collaboration and independent learning. While students learn to work in groups, they will also learn independently through self-reflection and evaluation of their own work processes. These learning outcomes exist in dynamic interplay rather than as compartmentalized and distinct categories. The following are the learning outcomes for project work:

Domains Learning Outcomes
Knowledge Application Students will acquire the ability to make links across different areas of knowledge and to generate, develop and evaluate ideas and information so as to apply these skills to the project task.
Communication Students will acquire the skills to communicate effectively and to present ideas clearly and coherently to specific audience in both the written and oral forms.
Collaboration Students will acquire collaborative skills through working in a team to achieve common goals.
Independent Learning Students will be able to learn on their own, reflect on their learning and take appropriate actions to improve it.

DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF FERTILIZER SPRAYERS: Now days, there are many types of pesticide sprayer already in market. For the different types of pesticide sprayer there are have a different shape, sizes, method to carry it but the function are same.  The current idea on sprayer in our project is to utilize effectively for reducing time of spraying, human efforts and cost of spraying. Now days the spraying of crop is done by operator taking pump on back, but we were developing this conventional spraying for reducing efforts and time by using slider crank mechanism and motion transmission by chain and sprocket arrangement principles.

FLUSH FREE TOILET FOR CONSERVATION OF WATER: The main objective of the toilet design is to use in rural areas and water scarcity areas. In normal toilet, nearly five to ten liters of water is used for single flush. So, we planned to save the water and going to use the waste as fertilizer. In this project, we can show a difference when compared to other type of toilet. The main objective is to utilize the water used in flushing for some other efficient purpose. To develop a low cost still efficient toilet for the helpless brothers and sisters of our Indian nation. To reduce the odor created after the usage of the toilet. To develop a better replacement for mobile toilet where sustainability of water supply and sanitation services is highly remote.

SAFETY VEHICLE FOR PEOPLE WITH FORELIMB DISABILITY: For a physically disabled or a debilitated person, transportation is a major hindrance and so the mobility of physically disabled people is among the great concern of the human civilization. It is really very hard to realize the problems and sorrows of a physically disabled or debilitated person who is dependent on others or is confined on a wheel chair with a limited mobility. In India, the contemporarily modified scooters used by the physically disabled people for transportation are not ergonomic and do not provide protection from adverse weather conditions which can be more dangerous for physically disabled people compared to the normal person while driving.

OUTCOME:

The students gained real time hands on experience through their innovative projects. The students acquired knowledge of presenting papers and applying patents for their innovative ideas.
